Frances Todd Currie, 94, of Lake Wylie, SC passed on May 23, 2023.

Frances was born on April 2, 1929, to JC and Mazzie Ethel Todd in Clarendon, NC. She attended Williams Township. Frances was a cosmetologist and the salon owner of Cottage of Hair Fashion for over 50 years.  

Frances met the love of her life, Dewitt Currie, in 2nd grade. They were married in January of 1946 and resided in Columbus County, NC before moving to Charlotte, NC. She and Dewitt moved to Lake Wylie, SC in 1973 where she resided for the last 50 years.

Frances enjoyed playing bridge, spending time with her family, cooking, dancing, traveling, entertaining guests and friends, and serving her community and Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church. She was an active member and president of the American Cancer Society’s Look Good Feel Better program. Frances was also a proud member of the Red Fez Club Camelettes.

She is survived by her three children Donna Currie Garrison (Eddie) of Lake Wylie, SC, Dewitt Lee Currie Jr. (Lizabeth) of Lake Wylie, SC, and Archie Todd Currie (Brittany) of Charleston, SC; one sister Madge Roach of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren Kimber Garrison Biles (Joshua), Devin Currie, Ian Currie, Dewitt Lee Currie III, Colt Currie and Chloe Currie; and three great grandchildren Liam Biles, Olivia Currie, and Luke Biles.  Frances was preceded in death by her husband Dewitt, eldest grandchild Amanda Ellen Garrison, brother CW Todd, and her parents.

All services will be held Friday, May 26, 2023, at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church at Pleasant Hill, 15000 York Hwy., Charlotte, NC.  Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., followed by the funeral at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be sent to either the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Society.
