Frederick Frick, III Obituary

Our creator called on Fred Frick from his home in Lake Wylie, SC to join him and many others on Jan 23rd 2021.

Fred was predeceased in death by his parents Fredrick Henry Frick Jr. and Susan Thomas Frick of Connecticut

He is survived by his loving wife Genie Hodges Frick of Lake Wylie, SC.  His son Bryam Thomas Frick of Waxhaw, NC

His Sister Chris Matthews her husband Matt Matthews of New Canaan, Connecticut and their son Whit Matthews. His Brother Robert Frick of Juno, Alaska. Stepsons Chris Hodges and wife Annette Hodges of Hawaii their children Christopher, Izzy, and Lily. Jeff Hodges and Wife Tanya Hodges of Mt. Pleasant, SC their children Austin and Alex. Michael Hodges and Wife Rena Hodges of Apex, NC their children Bruce and Anna and His three fur children Tank, Charlie, and Sadie.

Fred Frick had many friends and enjoyed life more than most. Able to make friends on any occasion. Always there to support the University of South Carolina Gamecocks on any fall Saturday, Known by many to have the best foot wedge on the golf course and to have never had a ball go out of bounds. Fred always looking for any opportunity to get away to his second home on Beech Mountain where he loved to spend time with his son, wife, and any friends. Sitting in his favorite chair on the deck looking at the views with great music and a good scotch in hand. Fred’s favorite hour of the day was 4:00 pm known by many as Yappy Hour, His love for his dogs grew into a large community dog park with over 100 members.

Fred a graduate of The University of South Carolina (Class of 1971) and member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Minor in Religion. After Graduation Fred taught History in Sumter County, SC and was an assistant Football Coach. In 1974 he was employed with Diebold Banking Equipment. In 1977 after a move to Charlotte, NC he began his 44 year career in the steel industry with Roll Form Products Inc, later becoming an independent steel rep.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday Jan 30th at 1:00 p.m. outside at the River Hills Dog Park. In Lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Fred’s honor to Richardson Animal Rescue  1968 State Rd S-46-168 York, SC 29745 or a charitable organization of your choice.
