Mr. Harold Jenkins “Jenks” Caldwell, Jr., of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Clapp’s Convalescent Nursing Home, in Asheboro, NC. He grew up and spent most of his life in Charlotte, NC, before retiring to his cherished property in Chester County, SC.
Jenks was born July 15, 1944, in Gastonia, NC, to the late Harold Jenkins Caldwell, Sr. and Mildred Stowe Caldwell.
Jenks was a graduate of Garinger High School and Gardner Webb University. He proudly served his country in the Air National Guard. His professional career was at Charlotte Aircraft Corporation, originally started by his father in 1953. Jenks served as president of CAC until his recent passing.
Besides his long-time career, Jenks had a love of the outdoors that anyone who met him knew. He was an avid hunter of wildlife and enjoyed fishing during many family vacations. Jenks loved curating his hunting property for wildlife, creating a perfect hunting spot for friends and family to enjoy. He placed bluebird nesting boxes and bird feeders, ensuring they were always full of feed to attract birds. Some of Jenks' favorite memories included early morning hunts with friends, riding around exploring nature, and watching the bluebirds return each spring. He loved sharing stories and seeing the joy on his family's faces during gatherings. His passion for nature and wildlife left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
