Mrs. Helen Sue Childers White, 95, of Clover, South Carolina, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. White was born May 28, 1930, in Gaston County, NC, to the late John Earl Childers, Sr. and Vida Neill Childers.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Lloyd White; her daughter, Evelyn; and her son, Bill.  She was also preceded in death by her two sisters and five brothers.

Mrs. White was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family deeply. Known affectionately as “MawMaw” by many who loved her, she brought warmth, kindness, and laughter wherever she went. She retired from Pharr Yarns after many years of dedicated work.

She was a longtime and faithful member of Crowders Creek ARP Church, where she was active in HARPS and greatly enjoyed the many trips and fellowship shared with friends through the years. In her free time, she loved working in her yard, tending to her flowers, and gardening. She will be remembered for her sweet smile, her precious voice, and her joyful laugh that brightened the lives of those around her. Her legacy of love and devotion to her family will live on for generations.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jane Thompson (Wayne) and Susan Hills (Kenny) and her three sons, Larry White, Jerry White (Donna), and Dennis White (Lori), all of Clover; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Don Childers (Linda) and Charles Childers (Sandra), of Cherryville, NC; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00, Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Crowders Creek ARP Church, 207 Crowders Creek Church Road, Gastonia, NC, with the Rev. Jason Strong officiating.  Interment will be in the church cemetery following the service.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
