Obituary

Mrs. Indardaye Mona Christian, 63, of Clover, SC, passed away at Piedmont Medical Center Friday, May 5, 2023.

Mrs. Christian was born December 26, 1959, in Trinidad and Tobago, to the late Bissessar Moonsammy and Dolly Bissessar.

Mrs. Mona Christian attended primary & secondary school in Trinidad and studied accounting and financial services at St. Mary’s College, earning an Associates in Accounting.  After which, successfully earning her Bachelor of Science in Business Accounting at the University of Phoenix in 2007.

She relocated to the United States in West Orange, NJ with her husband, Richard Christian in 1984 and worked at CM Brown.  After which she moved forward to work at various companies such as Siemens, Booz & Company, Wyndham Worldwide, and finally Samsung Electronics, Inc.  In 2020 she was promoted and appointed to Accounts Receivable Manager.  Mona was heavily credited, respected, regarded and loved upon numerous peers, coworkers, and bosses at every company she worked for, demonstrating her indomitable will, hard work ethic, perseverance, intelligence, dedication, honesty, determination and compassion.

Mona was immensely ambitious, goal oriented, and heavily invested not only in her work but in her family, making sure that her two sons and husband were provided for and happy.  She was always kind, caring, giving, strict, and tough, making sure her two sons were ready for the real world and watched them become successful and guided her husband in every way possible to be decisive and perceptive, in making the best decisions for her family.  Mona always believed that happiness and moving forward with life was the best approach.  Mona continuously repeated about how proud she was of her two sons and husband for all of their accomplishments, their events in life, and enjoyed every single second of her family.

During her spare time, Mona enjoyed tennis, swimming, Zumba fitness, step aerobics, dancing, and soap operas, such as General Hospital, All My Children, Port Charles, and numerous gameshows such as Jeopardy, Let’s Make a Deal, and Wheel of Fortune.  Her favorite hobby with her oldest son, Nicholas, was discussing current events, the world and social events, and with Tyler, the youngest son, it was tennis, current events, and playing the lottery, and with her husband, Richard, it was dancing, cooking, watching movies every Saturday, and socializing with family and friends about any topic that was relevant to today’s happiness.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Richard Christian; her sons, Nicholas Kyle Richard Christian, Washington, NJ, and Tyler Adam Christian, Clover, SC; her sisters, Indra Mahabir, Shanty Isahac, and Doody Maharaj; and her brother, Vishnu Bissessar.

A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023 at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 4820, Charlotte Hwy., Lake Wylie, SC.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
