Mr. James Lee Rufert, 79, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, at his home.

Mr. Rufert was born June 25, 1944, in Stockton, CA, to the late Charles Edward and Margaret Peck Rufert.  He was a US Army veteran and a retired Teamster.  In retired life, he went above and beyond in helping take care of his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his sons, Chris Rufert, and wife Debbie, Charlotte, NC, and Kevin Rufert, York, SC; his grandchildren, Cody McClellan, Makayla Ruffin, Kevin Rufert, Jr., Katelyn Rufert, Christopher Rufert, and Connor Rufert; and his three great grandchildren.

He is preceded by his parents; his stepmother Fern Rufert and his brother John Adams

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
