James “Jim” Alvin Brodmerkel, 92, of York, South Carolina, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Atrium Health, Charlotte, North Carolina.

Jim was born May 16, 1930, in Wilkinsburg, PA, to the late Harry and Bertha Louisa Amelia Zimmerman Brodmerkel.  He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Lynn Brodmerkel, his granddaughter, Sarah Amelia Brodmerkel and his sisters, Florence Elizabeth Davis and Anna Mae Brodmerkel.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Brenda Griffin Price Brodmerkel, York, SC, his daughter, Janet Kay Buchanan, Stanley, NC, his sons, James Scott Brodmerkel (Jan), Burgaw, NC, and Jeffrey Todd Brodmerkel, Fort Mill, SC, his granddaughter Anna Elizabeth McQuarrie (Frank), and his grandsons, Nathan Franklin Buchanan and Carter Edward Buchanan.  He is also survived by his stepchildren, Kenda Cook (Tommy), Stephen Price (Lynn), Kelly Bowers (Pete), his seven step grandchildren, his six step great-grandchildren, and the mother of his children, Barbara Jean Brodmerkel (Jeff Bruce).

A funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the Community Church at Lake Wylie, 104 Hamilton’s Ferry Road, Lake Wylie, SC. Interment will be in the River Hills/Lake Wylie Cemetery, 105 Hamilton’s Ferry Road, Lake Wylie, SC.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
