Mr. James “Jim” William Roberts, 85, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024, with his loving family by his side.

Mr. Roberts was born on April 22, 1939, in Spring City (Rhea County), TN, to the late Jessie Wheeler and Lois Dorothy Harrison Roberts.

Left to treasure his memory are his wife of 61 years, Carolyne Suzanne Ivers Roberts; his daughters, Robin Elaine Steinmeyer (John) of Macclenny, FL, and Renee Roberts Carpenter (Eric), of Lake Wylie, SC; his five grandchildren, Kelly Rosenbusch (Erich), John Steinmeyer, IV, Lauren Steinmeyer, Wil Carpenter, and Garrett Carpenter; his three great-grandchildren, Madelyn Glass, Eleanor Rosenbusch, and Liam Rosenbusch; and his step-brother, Douglas Janow and two step-nieces, Jill Wynn (James)and Jody Janow all of Chesapeake, VA.

Jim attended Spring City High School and then served in the US Navy, stationed in Hawaii and Turkey.  Upon completing his tour, he was employed by the United States Foreign Service Department, serving in Tehran, Iran.  He later graduated from Georgia State University with an Accounting degree and became a Certified Public Accountant.  He spent his career in Healthcare Finance and retired in 2002.  Jim was a family man who was always there to those who needed him.  He enjoyed spending time with all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   Jim was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church in Fort Mill, SC.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 31, 2025, in the historic sanctuary of Unity Presbyterian Church, U.S.A, 303 Tom Hall Street, Fort Mill, SC.
