Mr. James “Tony” Anthony King, 64, of Union, South Carolina, formerly of Pearl, MS, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Spartanburg Medical Center, Spartanburg, SC.
A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Midway Baptist Church, 12984 Hwy. 55, West, York, SC, with the Rev. James Galloway and the Rev. Mark Dellinger officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the church.
Mr. King was born on April 5, 1961, to the late James Ray King and Ruby Ann Owens King. He was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Tommy Currie and Keith Williams.
Tony loved camping, fishing, and NASCAR. He was well known for his tinkering on his special projects.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathrine “Maurine” Currie King; his step-daughter, Melissa Galloway (James), Clover, SC; his grandchildren, Chris Galloway, Jacob Galloway, and Noah Galloway; his brothers, Terry King (Beverly) and Kevin King; his sisters-in-law, Debbie Williams and Debbie Currie; his nieces and nephews, Brandon King (Megan), Ashley Chapman (Hunter), Christie Berry (Mike), Wendy Howell (Ryan), and Ryan Williams; and numerous cousins.
