Mrs. Janet Ethel Eldredge Simril, 84, of Lake Wylie, South Carolina, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice and Community Care in Rock Hill, SC.
Janet was born September 25, 1941, in Everett, Massachusetts, to the late Everett and Doris Eldredge.
Janet is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert T. Simril, Sr., her son Tom Simril (Joy), daughters Denise Elaine Simril and Deborah Henning (Brian), grandchildren Dr. Trey Simril and Dr. Adair Edmunds (Evan), and great-grandson Owen Thomas Edmunds.
Janet is also survived by her brothers Robert Eldredge and Ken Eldredge (Kathy), and sister Nancy Eldredge.
Janet was a graduate of East Mecklenburg High School and Mercy School of Nursing in Charlotte, NC. Janet worked as a Registered Nurse in many medical settings as she accompanied her husband throughout his military career. Janet later worked with Duke Power at the Allen Steam Station in Safety and Training and retired after 17 years.
Janet was a dedicated founding member of her church, All Saints Catholic Church, and was passionate about fostering education by volunteering in the local schools and mentoring students. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, feeding and watching birds, and working puzzles. Janet loved to travel and always looked forward to the annual trips to Siesta Key, where she enjoyed shelling for olives, and to Maine, where she enjoyed time with dear friends and New England meals of lobsters and fried clams.
Janet was the most wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and was a treasured friend and sister to many.
Funeral Mass will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2026 at All Saints Catholic Church, 530 Highway 274, Lake Wylie, SC with Father Charles Tupta officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 12:00 before the service at All Saints Catholic Church.
