Mrs. Jewel Stone Cooper, 93, of York, SC, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, Rock Hill, SC.
Mrs. Cooper was born on June 10, 1930, in Henry County, VA, to the late James Charlie Stone and Effie Golden Emberson Stone. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Wade Cooper, her sisters and brothers-in-law, Ida Stone and Glen Shelton, James Lovell, and Nellie Katherine Stone, and her brother Nelson Eugene Stone.
She is survived by her son, Steven Lewis Cooper and wife Rita, York, SC, her grandson. William J. Johnson, and wife Teal, her great grandchildren, Grayson and Reid Johnson, her brothers and sisters-in-law, Jean Ingram Stone, Charlie Elmer and Ann Stone, Curtis Franklin and Daphne Stone, and sister, Grace Lovell. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends including her honorary great grandchild, Caimen Sarratt.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2024, at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 4820 Charlotte Hwy., Lake Wylie, SC. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be private in Greenville Memorial Gardens, Piedmont, SC.
