Mr. James Walter “Jim” Armstrong, 91, of Clover, South Carolina, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 22, 1933, to the late Walter Cason and Nannie Irene Millen Armstrong, in Clover, SC.

Jim was a loving father and grandfather to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  He was a lifetime member and past Master of Alpine Lodge 208 and a lifetime member and past Worthy Patron and District Deputy of Eastern Star, member of the Hejaz Shrine, York Rite, and Scottish Rite.  He retired from the National Guard after 22 years, coached little league and pony league baseball in the 70’s and 80’s, and was a member of the Romeo Club.  He retired from North Hand Products.  He attended Clover Wesleyan Church in Clover, SC, where he taught Sunday School.

He is survived by his son, Steve Armstrong (Cherry); his daughter, Susan Wilson (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Brian Wilson, Bailey Daves (Steven), Brett Wilson, (Sandy), and Clint Armstrong (Kayla); his great-grandchildren, Cameron Wilson, Lane Daves, Cole Daves, Maci Daves, Brycen Wilson, Grey Armstrong, and Nash Armstrong; his sister, Betty Ruth Cooke; and his brothers, Kenneth Armstrong, Jack Armstrong, Mac Armstrong, and Bill Armstrong.  He is also survived by several sisters- and brothers-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, and the Romeo Club.   He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy McCarter Armstrong, his daughter, Patricia Ann Armstrong, his sisters, Lucille Morgan, Irene Putman, and Nancy Kelly, and his brother Bobby Armstrong.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Clover, SC.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 10, 2024, at the Clover Wesleyan Church, 102 Parkview Lane, Clover, SC, with the Rev. Adrian Ballard officiating.
