Mr. John Vargo, Jr., 78, of Clover, SC, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Piedmont Medical Center, Fort Mill, SC.
Mr. Vargo was born June 2, 1947, in Erie, PA to the late John Vargo, Sr. and Louise Smith Vargo. John was drafted into the United States Army in August 1967 and served as a Power Generation Repairman with Alpha Company, 36th Engineer Battalion, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He deployed to Vietnam, where he served one year in combat supporting critical military operations. He was honorably discharged in May 1969 with the rank of Specialist Five. His service was recognized with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.
John took the skills he developed as a machinist and built Accu-Cut Industries from the ground up, a business that proudly served many local companies for 25 years. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather who found his greatest joy in watching his daughters and grandchildren grow, always supporting them with pride.
Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Linda Gillespie Vargo; daughters Natalie Seman (John) of Conneautville, PA, Nicole McCormick (Christopher) of York, SC, and Heather Yaple (Rusty) of Clover, SC; sister Joan Royle (Rollo) of Texas; grandchildren Riley McCormick (Denton), Ciara McCormick, William Spencer (Kelsey), Camdyn Gamarra (Johan), Payge Yaple, and Brynn Yaple; and five great-grandchildren.
All services will be private.
