Jon Rasnick Obituary

Mr. Jon Dick Rasnick, 87, of Clover, South Carolina, passed away, Saturday, April 4, 2026, at home.

Mr. Rasnick was born on August 5, 1938, in Dayton, OH, to the late John Rasnick and Eunice Williams Rasnick.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Marie Rutledge Rasnick; his daughters, Rebecca Boyd (Scott), Clover, SC, Deborah Prescott (Kevin), Draper, VA, Karen Layne, Wake Forest, NC, and Elaina Spruill, Clover, SC; and his eight grandchildren Jacob Prescott (Mindy), Mark Boyd (Elizabeth), Jessie Dills (Zack), Elizabeth Boyd, Ellie Spruill, Jon Spruill, Olivia Layne, and Parker Layne and three great-grandchildren Dennie Prescott, Duke Prescott, and Dolly Prescott. Dick also treasured his niece Jennifer Lee (Brian) and their sons Mason Lee and Colin Lee. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jere Rasnick.

With grateful hearts for a life well lived, we celebrate the passing of a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He shared 62 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife Rita, building a legacy of love, faith, and steadfast commitment.

A proud father of daughters, he instilled in them strength, resilience, and integrity—values that will continue to guide generations. His family was his greatest joy, and he took deep pride in each of their accomplishments.

He was a man of deep and abiding faith, faithfully serving his Lord through both local and international mission work. His life reflected a quiet dedication to helping others and living out his beliefs in meaningful ways.

After pursuing post-high school studies in electrical engineering, he built a successful career managing electrical manufacturing plants across several states for more than three decades. Later, he embraced a new chapter as an independent tax preparation franchise owner in South Carolina where he continued to serve his community with care and diligence.

In his free time, he found peace and fulfillment in woodworking and raising horses—simple joys that reflected his patient and steady spirit.

He will be remembered for his kindness, strength, faith, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he cherished so deeply.
