Mr. Joseph Warner Reid, 87, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born July 4, 1935, in Todd, NC, to the late Clint and Virginia Cordie McGuire Reid.  Mr. Reid dutifully served in the U.S. Army, then worked for Xerox Corporation for 30 years before retiring in 1994.

Mr. Reid is survived by his wife of 66 years, Loretta Houck Reid; his daughter, Nancy R. Owen, and her husband, Charlie, of Kirkland, WA; his son, Randy Reid, and his wife, Cindy, of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Stephanie Perez (Johnny), Scott Reid (Kristen), Ashleigh Owen, and Lacie Owen; and his great-grandchildren, Matthew Scarborough, Khloe Reid, Carmen Perez, Aubrey Perez, Ellie Perez, and Logan Perez.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 19, 2023, at Good Shepherd Church, 13110 Moss Road, Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends one hour after the service. Interment will be Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Clyde Houck Road, Todd, NC.
