Mrs. Helen Joyce Hollis Shores, 82, of Clover, SC, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at home.

A memorial service will be held at a later time.

Mrs. Shores was born October 31, 1938 in Shawmut, AL to the late George Thomas and Vera Helen Sledge Hollis. 

Mrs. Shores was a graduate of Georgia State University and spent her career as a systems analyst working for NCNB and Rexam Corporation.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Clover where she enjoyed serving in various roles for the United Methodist Women and the Steve Camp Sunday School class.  She also served many years as a library volunteer at Griggs Road Elementary School.  Mrs. Shores enjoyed playing bridge, jigsaw puzzles, watching the Atlanta Braves and Crimson Tide football, but her greatest passion in life was spending time with her family and friends, especially her beloved granddaughter.  She had a kind and giving heart which, she gave freely to those she loved.

Survivors are her husband of 59 years, Wade Glenn Shores; daughter, Sharon S. Young (Richard); and granddaughter, Hollis Victoria Young, all of Clover, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 124 Bethel Street, Clover SC 29710.
