Mrs. Kathleen Mary Brimley Sawyer, 79, of York, SC, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Wellmore of Tega Cay.

Kathleen was born April 23, 1944, in Hartford, CT to the late Austin and Amy O’Hearn Brimley.  She was the widow of David Albert Sawyer.

Kathleen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She raised her family in Hebron, CT where she was very active in the community and served as the Probate Judge for 10 years.  In 1996, she and husband, David, moved to Bonita Springs, FL where Kathleen pursued a career in massage therapy and as a yoga instructor. Kathleen loved to spend time with family and friends at her cottage, for over 30 years, on Highland Lake in Stoddard, NH and also watching the sunsets on the beach in Florida.

She is survived by her sons Jason Sawyer (Carrie Haynes) of Nosara, Costa Rica, and Garth Sawyer of York, SC; sister Barbara Whited; brother Richard Brimley (Hazel); and grandchildren Gabrielle Sawyer, Adin Sawyer, Isla Sawyer, Jessica McMorrow, and Samantha Sawyer.

Services will be held at a later time.
