Ms. Kathleen Norma McCoy Sisko, 71, of York, SC, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at home.

Ms. Sisko was born December 27, 1951, in Detroit, MI to the late William Reed and Norma Jean Putman McCoy.

Survivors are her sons Joseph Sisko (Nancy) of York, SC; Matthew Sisko of Phoenix, AZ; brother William McCoy; and grandchildren Blake Sisko and Landon Sisko.

“Ms. Kathy,” as she was known to many of the families in the community, spent the last 20 years in child development, helping raise many of the children in the Lake Wylie area. Her nurturing personality, big heart, and caring nature made her well-loved by so many. When children were in Ms. Kathy’s arms, parents knew their children were safe and well-loved.

Ms. Sisko knew what it meant to be a mother and a caregiver, always putting her children before her own needs. She showed love to people the way we all should show love to each other. She showed kindness and love to all people and animals. Her glowing smile always brightened up a conversation as she just loved to learn about people.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held to honor Ms. Sisko at 7pm on Tuesday 8/29/2023 at her son’s home, at 6688 Pine Forest Drive in York, SC 29745. Everyone is welcome to come by as early as 5pm to pay their respects.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to one of the two Child Development Centers where “Ms. Kathy” made such an incredible impact to children and families, to help continue the positive development of our children:
