Mrs. Kathryn “Katie” Dianne Wilson Grimm, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away, Thursday, July 18, 2024, at home, surrounded by her family.
Katie was born May 10, 1963, to the late Dr. John Wilson and Anita Williams Campbell.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Thomas “Tom” Alexander Grimm; her daughters, Hannah Kathryn Grimm, Bizzi Alexandra Grimm, Sarah Wilson Grimm, and Emily Thomas Grimm; her sisters and brothers, John Wilson, Anita Marie Thaxton, Julie Wilson, Robbie Wilson, Geoffrey Wilson, Lawrence Wilson, and Christopher Wilson. She is preceded in death by her mother, Anita Campbell, and Anita’s husband Herb Campbell; her father, Dr. John Wilson; and in-laws Susan and Dick Grimm.
Katie was born and raised in the Cleveland, OH area. She attended high school at Notre Dame Academy, attended and graduated from Mount Saint Joseph University (undergraduate) and Cleveland State University (MBA). She started her career in marketing transitioning to the health care industry where she accelerated and became Director of Planning and Research at Meridia Health System. At Meridia, she drove the implementation of patient satisfaction and the “Ask a Nurse” program. This is also where she met her husband, Tom. Katie also became a certified chef at the Loretta Paganini School of Cooking. She used her husband as a taste tester (which he loved). For the following 20 years, Katie was the CHO (Chief Home Officer) of the Grimm Household. Raising four daughters (and many labs and one malti-poo) brought her so much joy. She was completely dedicated to providing the emotional, physical, and mental support that the girls needed. As her children became more self-sufficient, she shifted her focus of supporting others and used it to become a certified Life Coach. As a Life Coach, she was able to guide others through their life journeys with empathy and understanding. Katie was an amazing wife, mother, and friend. She always put others first and truly cared about everyone she loved.
A private memorial service will be held for family. There will be a Celebration of Life held on Sunday, August 11th, from 4-7 pm, at River Hills Marina. As the end of her coaching webpage says, “let’s stay connected” and honor Katie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unite for Her (uniteforher.org).
