Mr. Larry Fred Murphy, 87, of York, South Carolina, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022 at home.

A Memorial Service in his honor will be conducted Saturday, July 30, 2022 beginning 12:00 noon at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly, 5766 Charlotte Highway, Lake Wylie, South Carolina 29710.

Mr. Murphy was born January 27, 1935 in Brawley, California to the late Fred A. Murphy and Belva Austin Murphy Hansen.  He was a Korean War Veteran in the United States Navy.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Louise Hicks Murphy and his brother, Leamon William Murphy.

Survivors are his wife Leila Diane Davis Morris Murphy; sons Larry Boyd Murphy, Kerry Wayne Murphy and Randall Leamon Murphy; daughters Jeanette Louise Murphy Roveri Smith and Amie Shanelle Morris Blain; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Mr. Murphy gave his heart to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in his 30’s and lived a life of integrity and excellence, which was continually displayed and with which he blessed all who were fortunate enough to know him. He had a smile that was unforgettable. Though he is irreplaceable on this earth, his family will continue to carry on his memory and share his tremendous legacy.

Thank you, Larry, for blessing us with your love. You will never be forgotten.
