Linwood “Lin” Johnson, age 78, formerly of Beaufort, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at his home in Lake Wylie, South Carolina.

Lin, Linny, his namesake to family and friends loved LIFE and FUN.  Anything that involved Emmery, his granddaughter, and two grandsons, Banks and Brooks, brought him immeasurable joy.  He and his only son, Quinn (Kara), shared a wonderful, adventurous life, ranging from sports cars, race cars, airplanes, boats, motor homes, and Harley Davidson motorcycles.  He loved His Sandy, devoted wife of 58 years.

Lin graduated from Northern High School, Durham, North Carolina, and High Point University, High Point, North Carolina, with majors in Biology and Chemistry.  He began his career in pharmaceutical sales.  He partnered to market two major electronic medical devices.  He introduced the first electronic oral thermometer.  He partnered for the invention, manufacturing, and marketing of the first volumetric IV infusion pump. 

Among adventure, success and good luck, Lin will be remembered most for his kindness, his integrity, his faith, and his devotion to his family.  He was the most humble man with a big smile and a big heart.  Heaven’s gate opened wide for a good and faithful servant who prayed his heart out every day.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 10, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., at The Parish Church of St. Helena, 505 Church Street, Beaufort, SC  29902.  The Rev. Shay Gaillard will officiate.  Interment will be held in the church cemetery.  A reception will follow at the Parish House.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be made to The Parish Church of St. Helena – Preservation Trust.
