Mrs. Louise McCarter Sharpe, 78, of York, SC, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, Rock Hill, SC.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2024 at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Clover, SC. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Lakeview Memory Gardens, York, SC with the Rev. Lewis Gunn officiating.
Mrs. Sharpe was born December 26, 1945 in York, SC to the late Carson Wallace and Ollie Bryson McCarter.
Louise walked through life with a gentle strength, touching the lives of everyone she encountered with an unforgettable grace. Full of love for both her Lord and savior and her family, Mrs. Sharpe leaves a legacy of kindness, strength, and resiliency. Louise was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend that brought light to the lives of all who knew her.
Survivors are her husband of 45 years, Haskell “Vernon” Bernard Sharpe; daughters Tina Harris (Roger) of York, SC and Melissa Bryant (Todd) of Clover, SC; sister Janette Owens (Danny); brothers Hubert McCarter, J.C. McCarter (Debbie) and Raymond McCarter (Peggy) all of Clover, SC; granddaughters Megan Davidson and Savannah McCall (Stewart); grandsons William Davidson (Ester), Dakota Davidson (Katie), Hunter Davidson, and Landon Bryant; and great grandsons Maxwell Davidson, Archer Davidson, and Carmine Davidson.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her sister Patsy Wilt; and brothers Floyd McCarter and Albert McCarter.
