Mrs. Boyd is survived by her husband George Robinson (Robbie) Boyd, Jr., sons Josh Robinson Boyd (Mike Lewis) and Travis Stanton Boyd (Kasey Lowe), grandchildren Carter Thomas Boyd and Jax Dempsey Boyd.  Also surviving are her sister, Sylvia Stanton Bowman (Lonnie), Columbia, Bill Stanton (Beth), Clinton, and Steve Stanton (Phyllis), Clover, and her sister-in-law, Kay Tolbert Stanton, Aiken.  Surviving Boyd family include Gayle Henderson (Bill), Charles Emmett Boyd, Janice Courtney (Gene), Wynelle Smith (David), Darrell Boyd (Michelle).  Margaret was especially proud of her numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Margaret was the youngest of seven siblings raised in their home, a renovated schoolhouse her father and other relatives attended, Post Oak School, on St. Paul Church Road.  In her early years, Margaret was actively involved in youth programs at First United Methodist Church in Clover.  Following her marriage to Robbie, she transferred her membership to Saint Paul United Methodist Church.  During her years at Saint Paul, Margaret served on numerous committees and held many positions, including Administrative Council, Children’s Programs, Nursery Worker, Sunday School Teacher, Fund Raising, and proudly served as the Chairperson of the Building Committee, leading to the completion of the current Fellowship Hall.  In later years, she continued to serve Saint Paul faithfully.

Margaret’s education included Bethel Elementary School, Clover Junior High and Clover High School, graduating in 1966.  A cherished memory was completing Winthrop University along with her mother, Mary Helen Withers Stanton, each one earning a Bachelor’s, Master’s and Plus Thirty in Education.  Her life work included, most fondly, raising their two remarkable sons, Josh and Travis, record keeping for Boyd Electric, record keeping for Travis Boyd Construction, teaching preschool at Clover Presbyterian, and ultimately working for Clover School District as a Middle School teacher and as District Coordinator for Gifted and Talented and Title One programs.  She retired from CSD in 2015.

Margaret was married to Robbie on February 17, 1968.  For 56 years, they have proudly raised their boys, Josh and Travis, and helped raise their grandsons, Carter and Jax, all the love of their lives.  Margaret and Robbie, have also been blessed with Kasey and Mike, completing their family.  After grandchildren, Margaret was known as “G” and she and Robbie joyfully spent countless hours with their precious grandchildren.  Daily, Margaret expressed her gratitude for the love, support and care endlessly displayed by Robbie, Josh, Mike, Travis, Kasey, Carter and Jax, too.

Margaret and her family greatly appreciated those who generously reached out through texts, calls, cards, flowers, food, and gestures of kindness during her journey.  Along with the immediate family, over the last several years Margaret was loved and exceptionally cared for by Ms. Johnnie Mae Feaster, Rock Hill and Ms. Bobbie Wallace, York.  The relationship they shared was of respect, patience, joy, peacefulness and especially friendship.  A faithful friend, Kim Clinton, hair stylist, generously served Margaret at home for several years.  More recently, additional care givers have blessed Margaret, and the family, with exceptional care, love, and friendship, including Juanella Adams, Kathy Baird, Annette Hill, Tierra Hughes, Cynthia McClure, Heather White, Margaret Whitlock, and Jayne Warley.  Our family will be eternally grateful to all who cared deeply for Margaret.
