Margaret "Marge" Reese Obituary

Margaret “Marge” Clark Reese, 94, of Rock Hill, SC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Willow Brook Court at Park Pointe Village, Rock Hill, SC, surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 28, 2024, at Park Pointe Village, 3025 Chesbrough Blvd., Rock Hill, SC.

Mrs. Reese was born February 25, 1930, in Ithaca, New York, to the late Carl and Margaret Rogers Clark.  She was preceded in death by husband, of 69 years, Winfield “Win” Reese, and her sister and brother-in-law, Muriel and Russ Fereday.

She attended Ithaca College, majoring in business and worked as an office assistant in many organizations.  She enjoyed knitting, reading, singing in choirs, doing crewel work, playing bridge, gardening, and home decorating. She, with Win’s help, raised two fine children and helped shepherd many in their faith. Her honesty, quick wit, and especially her compassionate understanding was appreciated by all who knew her.

Mrs. Reese was a member of the Community Church at Lake Wylie for many years and an oblate member of the Community of Jesus, Orleans MA, where Nathanael, her son, resides as a monastic brother.  She was also an active member of the Lioness Civic organization, as well as a volunteer for the community thrift store.  Marge frequently visited residents at Willow Brooke Court Care Facility  to provide companionship.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia R. Rocco (John) of Patchogue, NY; her son, Br. Nathanael Reese of Orleans, MA; her two grandchildren, Jeff Rocco (Christine) and Mark Rocco (Mae); her two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Giovanni Rocco; her step great-grandchild, Oscar Ellis; and several nieces and nephews.
