Mrs. Marguerite Robbins Phillips, 89, of Clover, SC passed away Friday, May 20, 2022 peacefully at home.
Mrs. Phillips was born July 13, 1932 in Rowan County, NC to the late Buford Adam Robbins and Annie Laura Troutman Robbins, she was the second of five siblings. Marguerite was a sincere lady and was devoted to her family, friends, and church. She had many hobbies including collecting antiques, traveling, playing solitaire, and cooking. Growing up, Marguerite moved many times with her family, as her father worked to improve the quality of life for his family by following the textile industry. Marguerite graduated from Clover High School and from then on, called Clover her home.
Marguerite and her late husband, Tommy, the love of her life for almost 60 years, were successful entrepreneurs, owning many businesses that began with “The Little Metro Restaurant”. She was the Vice President of Clover Wheel Estate, Inc. and an instrumental charter stockholder of Clover Community Bank.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Neil Phillips, Sr., a daughter, Teresa Osburn, a granddaughter, Laurie Moss, sister Sara J. Dixon, and brothers, Ray and Steve Robbins.
Survivors are her sons Thomas Neil Phillips, Jr. “Neil” (Melissa) of Clover, SC and Tommy Ray Phillips (Sandy) of Sebring, FL; daughters Ginger Sue Delaney (Mike) of Avon Park, FL and Robin P. Moss of Clover, SC; brothers Adam and David Robbins; twelve grandchildren; and twenty-four great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the Clover First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Stanford officiating. Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour before the service at the Church.
