Mary Black Bailes, 92, of Clover, SC, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023, at home.

Mrs. Bailes was born March 7, 1931, in York County, SC, to the late Lee Fewell Black, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Faris Black.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall A. Bailes, Sr., and two brothers, Lee Fewell Black, Jr. and William Glenn Black.

She is survived by her five daughters, Vicki Wyant (Joe), York, SC, Barbara Shillinglaw (Dan), York, SC, Cindy Love (Bob), Clover, SC, Melanie Neil, Clover, SC, and Bonnie Meche (Brent), Fort Mill, SC; her son, Marshall A. “Marsh” Bailes, Jr. (Mary-Charles), Clover, SC; fourteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Kings Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church, 1130 Philbeck Road, York, SC, with the Rev. Dan Sullivan officiating.  Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens, 1774 Filbert Hwy., York, SC.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:50 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.
