Matthew was born May 22, 1987 in Middletown, NY to Edward Paul Oliver and Lynn Schatz Oliver.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Joseph Schatz, paternal grandfather, Edward Oliver, and his dog, Skipper Oliver.
Survivors are his parents, Edward and Lynn Oliver; sister Marisa Oliver Holman (Andrew) of York, SC; nieces and nephew Andrew Holman, Frankie Holman, Amelia Holman, and Dorothy Holman; maternal grandmother Elizabeth Schatz; paternal grandmother Patricia Oliver; aunts and uncles Joe & Carol Schatz, Lorri & Brad Hopkins, and Robert & Linda Schatz; cousins Joseph Schatz (Danielle), Jeffrey Schatz (Katie), Jennifer Dolis (Eric), Max Hopkins (Colleen), Sam Hopkins, Ryan Schatz, Emily Schatz, and Christopher Schatz; special friends Marguerite Theuret, Frank Nastasa, and Barbara & Steve Sullivan; and his ducks Amelia, Eloise, Florence, Mrs. Jackson, and Beats “Beatrice.
Matthew loved his garden, cars, being outdoors, building fires and his animals. He was a collector of many things; legos, matchbox cars, historical items, military memorabilia. He was a keeper of our family history and loved to cook with his Grandma Bette and listen to stories from Grandma Pat. He was an avid foodie and a hard worker who loved being a mentor to his co-workers if needed. He always took pride in all aspects of his life. He loved being out on the water on his jet ski, riding quads and deep-sea fishing in the keys with his dad. Mom loved when they brought home fresh mahi they caught. He loved to share pieces of himself for others to enjoy, like his duck eggs and eucalyptus. He was always excited about the beginning of the gardening season and would start his seedlings in his green house, anticipating the bounty he would produce and make delicious meals. He was the best listener and loved his family and friends so much.
“We love you Uncle Matt!”- Andrew, Frankie, Millie and Dottie
