Miss Mattie Elaine Lillard, 38, of Charlotte, NC, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025.

Services will be held at a later time in Virginia.

Mattie was born August 18, 1986 in Fredericksburg, VA to Robert Bruce Lillard and Terry Lee Kleinknecht Lillard.

Mattie is survived by her loving parents Rob and Terry Lillard; sisters Eve Carroll (Bill) of York, SC and Christian Birdsall of Charlotte, NC; brothers Seth Lillard of Spotsylvania, VA and Jacob Lillard (Maria) of Hollywood, MD; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dogs Livy and Leo.

Mattie above all loved and cherished her family, friends, and fur babies.  She loved life and was always up for an adventure.  She enjoyed a hike in the woods, getting lost in a good book, and finding peace at the beach.  She fiercely stood for those she loved and what she believed in.

Mattie accepted Jesus as her Savior and was a child of the King.  The family takes comfort in knowing she is at peace in His loving arms now.

With broken hearts, the family asks for your continued prayer as we navigate these next days.  Mattie was a strong, beautiful soul who will be sorely missed.
