Mr. Melton James Frederick, 83, of Lake Wylie, SC, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024, at home.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, starting at 6:00 pm, followed by the Rosary at 6:30 pm, and a Vigil at 7 pm at St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church, Cheboygan, MI. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 11:00 am, with the family greeting friends beginning at 10:00 at St. Mary/St. Charles Church, Cheboygan, MI.  Father Rev. Duane Wachowiak will officiate. The interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Cheboygan, MI.

Mr. Frederick was born September 16, 1940, in Owosso, MI to the late Clifford James and Mary Adeline Wilkinson Frederick.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn Agnes Bur Frederick, his granddaughter, Courtney Gunther, his sister, Esther Frederick, and his brothers, Marseness Frederick, Michael Frederick, and Marvin Frederick.

He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl (Jeffrey) Gunther of Lake Wylie, SC; his son, Randy (Patty) Frederick of Dodge, ND; his grandchildren, Brenden Gunther, Charissa (Colin) Moore, Kallie Gunther, Anthony Frederick, Craig Frederick, and David (Joelle) Frederick; his three great grandchildren, Kannon, Bridger, and Courtney; his sisters, Elsie Bradley and Phyllis Andrew; and his brothers, Clyde Frederick (Carol) and Robert Frederick.
