Mr. Michael William Cornish, 78, of Simpsonville, SC (formerly of Clover, SC and Charlotte, NC), passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
Mr. Cornish was born on August 17, 1946 in Burlington, WI to the late Robert and Virginia Wartman Cornish. He was a loving husband and father and U.S. Navy Veteran. Endearingly known and loved as “Bup”, his five grandchildren were his treasures. He will be remembered for his indelible charm and wry sense of humor. He is preceded in death by his wife, Susan Helen Warosh Cornish (2015) and granddaughter, Nora Susan Cornish (2017).
He is survived by his three beloved sons, Christopher Michael Cornish (Melissa) of Simpsonville, SC, Craig Robert Cornish (Lisa) of Pittsboro, NC, and Eric John Cornish (Mary Cate) of Winchester, VA; brothers Robert Cornish (Carol), Jack Burns (Maddie), Jim Burns (Jean), Pat Burns (Ann), Nancy Burns, and Mary Burns (John Bates); and grandchildren William Christopher, Hope Catherine, Julia Anne, Iris Catherine, and Walter James.
