Mikel Hoffman Jones, 51, of Lake Wylie SC, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025, at home surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday October 1, 2025, at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 4820 Charlotte Hwy., Lake Wylie, SC. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 12:00 p.m.

Mrs. Jones was born August 1, 1974, in Boulder, Colorado, to Joseph Hoffman and Jane Lenore Arnold. In her early life she attended Powhatan Country Day. She was a gifted student and avid field hockey lover. It is at Powhatan, at the age of 13, where she would meet the love of her life and future husband, Brian.  From the age of 16, Brian and Mikel would share their life together. True high school sweethearts.

Mikel graduated from Virginia Tech in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Her love of plants and all things green led her to a career in landscape design where she was a partner with Color Burst for 10 years.

After the birth of her second child, Mikel resigned from the corporate world to make family the center of her life. She was a devoted mother, wife and friend. She made it a priority to never miss a school event, or soccer match.  She was there for every laugh and tear shed. She truly lived for her family.

Mikel is survived by her husband, Brian Jones; her children, Allie Mikayla Jones, and Grayson Connor Jones; her mother, Lenore Arnold, her father Joseph Hoffman and wife, Beth; her sisters, Hannah Byers (Scott) and Leah Brinkman (Zac); and her brothers Joseph Penn Hoffman and Jason K. Corrigan.
