Mr. Norris Vaughan Clifton, 88, of York, SC, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, Rock Hill, SC.

Mr. Clifton was born March 4, 1935 in Hampton, SC to the late Norris Tuten Clifton and Wilhelmina Vaughn Clifton.  Norris spent 22 years in the U. S. Air Force, after which he went on to a second career as a General Manager of golf and country clubs.  In 2009, he retired from the Grandfather Golf and Country Club, in Linville, NC.

Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Anke M. Clifton; daughter Severin C. Tomlinson (Chris) of Huntley, IL; son Marcus T. Clifton, of Charlotte, NC; sister Annette Amick, of Gaston, SC; and grandchildren Ashley Tomlinson and Davis Tomlinson.

Along with his parents, Norris was also preceded in death by a brother, Lanier Clifton and a sister, Miriam Pilcher.

Norris will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors at a later date.
