Mother had a wonderful 92 years of life. She loved her family and especially celebrating the holidays. Mother and Dad were long time members (35 years) of River Hill Country Club and members of River Hills Community Church. Mother was a bell ringer at the church, an active member in PEO, she played tennis up to her 80’s and loved to tend to her rose garden. Mother played in several bridge clubs, cross stitched and canned preserves. Mother was very involved with different museums over the years, particularly the Daniel Stowe Conservancy in her later years. Mother and Dad travelled extensively outside the U.S. upon Dad’s retirement. They liked to entertain friends and family and travel to their beach townhouse in Wrightsville Beach, NC. Everyone that knew Mother loved her. Mother had college friends that stayed in touch throughout the years as well as relatives and many new friends wherever she and Dad lived.
When first married, Mother and Dad lived in San Antonio, Texas while Dad was in the US Air Force. Mother taught school in San Antonio before moving back to Cherry Hill, New Jersey and starting a family. In 1967, Mother and Dad (with Scott and Beth) moved to Greensboro, NC for 3 years and then to Winston-Salem, NC in 1970. Amy was born in Winston-Salem. Mother and Dad moved to River Hills Plantation on Lake Wylie, SC in 1981 and lived there until 2019 when they moved to Park Pointe Village Retirement-Life Community in Rock Hill, SC.
