On November 15, 2023, this world lost a beautiful light as Patricia Ann Hoyle Gibson, 75, entered her heavenly home. Born on June 28, 1948, to Marshall Ferron Hoyle and Mary Allene Meek Hoyle in Lincoln County, NC. Trish grew up in York, SC, and later graduated from York schools.
Her years of employment with both Klear Knit and York County yielded countless colleagues who became friends. Trish lived a life of faith and fun, and she made sure her days were filled with love and laughter. She could always be counted on to discover a way to find joy and adventure in the most ordinary things. Making crafts, sewing, gardening, and cake decorating were just a few of the many hobbies she enjoyed. An extraordinary work ethic meant that Trish was always busy, always on the go, and always working on one project or another From carpentry to yard work to craft projects, she stayed active. The only thing that could possibly slow her down was the opportunity to play in the pool or the ocean with her grandchildren, which she loved.
Trish modeled Christ in her service to her church, her community, and her family—loving with her actions, words, and deeds. Whether she was taking food to someone in need, working with Vacation Bible School or the Christmas play, organizing the clothes pantry, or planning games for her seniors group, Trish was committed to her church family and immensely enjoyed the fellowship of her friends at Midway Baptist Church.
As a teenager, Trish met the love of her life, Horace Gibson, and together they raised a family outside of Clover, SC. There was no role that Trish adored more than being Nana to her grandchildren. Whether it was watching football, basketball, volleyball, awards ceremonies, graduations, musicals, robotics competitions, band concerts, cheer competitions, or dance recitals, Trish proudly supported each of her grandchildren. She also treasured time with her brothers and sisters—shopping, eating out, and exploring were some of her favorite past times. Nothing gave her greater joy than spending time with her family, and they are all immensely grateful for the love she showed daily to each of them.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Horace Gibson; daughters Ginger Gibson Marr (Robb) and Kelly Gibson Halk (Boomer); son Troy Gibson (Virginia); granddaughters Erin Marr and Baylee Halk; grandsons Josh Marr, Elijah Gibson, and Ezra Donaldson; sisters Nan Huffstetler and Catherine Rumfelt; brothers George Hoyle and Roy Hoyle; sisters-in law Sue Jenkins and Brenda Hoyle; brother-in-law Harold Gibson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
