Retired Engineer, Restauranter, and loving husband, father, and Pop Pop, Mr. Paul Louis Giusti, 81, of York, South Carolina, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024, surrounded by family and at peace.
Paul was born on October 31, 1943, in New Bedford, MA, to the late Louis Giusti and Mary Fraga Giusti. Paul led a very fulfilled and active life from an early age, starting as the president of his high school class and was a star on the track and field team, specializing in the shot put and discus events. Continuing into his college years, Paul obtained a bachelor’s degree in engineering at Worcester Polytechnical Institute, where he played football and met the love of his life Patricia Swavely Giusti. Paul was a unique combination as a completely selfless man and had the ability to be the center of attention with his charisma and charm. As a father he always had the answers no matter the question, whether it was science, the cosmos, history, or proper ingredients for his famous meatballs. When Paul retired his only wish was to be close to family to continue the strong bond that we have always shared. He loved being a Pop Pop and watching his family grow up. Paul was adored by all and will be missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia Swavely Giusti; his daughter, Kimberly Giusti, Charlotte, NC; his sons, Kevin Giusti (Jacqueline), Charlotte, NC, and Garrett Giusti (Kealy), Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Taber Borst, Brooklynn Borst, Quinn Giusti, Everett Giusti, Nolan Giusti, and Dylan Giusti; and his sister, Mary Lou Park.
A Memorial Service will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at The Community Church at Lake Wylie, 104 Hamilton’s Ferry Road, Lake Wylie, SC. A reception will follow the service at the River Hills Country Club, 1 Country Club Lane, Lake Wylie, SC.
