Mr. Paul Elmer Houseworth, 72, of Lake Wylie, SC, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at his daughter’s home. Paul was born May 19, 1953 in Phoenixville, PA to the late Charles Webster and Mary Campbell Houseworth. He lived happily in Lake Wylie for the last several years to be near his daughter’s family, actively participating in his grandchildren’s sporting events and school functions as a proud Pop-Pop.
Prior to relocating to SC, he resided in Huntsville, AL with his former wife, Celia Mance, who continued to be a significant part of his life. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and enjoyed Alabama football, Phillies baseball, hard rock, and talk radio. Paul was laid-back, calm, and considerate-never one to impose. He lived with quiet grace, asking little of others. His presence was grounding, his opinions clear, and though he didn’t need many words, the ones he chose mattered. He was as steady as they come, content simply to be present with the people he loved.
Survivors include his daughter Jennifer Houseworth Cline (Barak) of York, SC; son Paul Jon Houseworth (Andi) of Apex, NC; grandchildren Ailey Cline, Ashtyn Cline, Ridge Cline, and Lucas Houseworth; brother Charles Houseworth of Wake Forest, NC; and sister Patricia Emory of Wilmington, NC.
The family will honor Paul’s life privately at a later date.
