Mr. Paul Lloyd Roise, 95, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Lake Wylie, SC, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021 at Atrium Health, Charlotte, NC.
Mr. Roise was born April 29, 1926 in Chicago, IL to the late Paul Lloyd Roise, Sr. and Olive Edwards Roise. He graduated from Notre Dame University with a degree in Commerce, and was a World War II and Korean War Navy Veteran and the widower of Alice Hoye Roise.
Survivors are his daughter Arlene R. Simonton (Charles) of Charlotte, NC; son Thomas P. Roise (Mona) of McKinney, TX; grandchildren Catherine Alison Dalene (Tim), Scott Charles Simonton (Elizabeth), and Cameron Leigh Simonton; and great grandchildren Avery Alison Dalene, Beckett Daniel Dalene, Eleanor Gray Simonton, Lillian Davis Simonton, and Merritt James Simonton.
Paul’s career was in manufacturing and was a plant manager for several large manufacturers of trucks with his specialty being to optimize production efficiency, and lived with his family in many different cities in the Midwest. His love was the church, wherever they lived, and always took on activities supporting sanctuary services, Christian education, and singing in the choir. He also loved home projects and had a garage full of tools, with weekends carefully planned for these projects.
And, everyone knows how much he loved watching sports, particularly his Fighting Irish and Chicago Cubs, with the high point being when the Cubs finally won the World Series again.
The family will always remember his sense of humor and friendliness to all he met wherever he was: at church, restaurants, the neighborhood, kids’ ballgames, and at work. His memory lives on dearly for all of his family.
