Mr. Paul Dillard Skinnell, 85, of Clover, SC, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at CaroMont Health, Gastonia, NC.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2023 at M. L. Ford & Sons, 209 N. Main St., Clover, SC with the Rev. Tresco Shannon officiating.  The family will receive friends 1 hour before the service.  Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens, York, SC.

Mr. Skinnell was born April 9, 1938 in Draper, NC to the late David DeWitt and Carrie Ann Aultice Skinnell.  He was a member of the Clover First United Methodist Church, where he was a past member of the Men’s Club and a member of the Men’s Bible Class.  Mr. Skinnell was active in the Clover community, he was past president of the Midget Football League, assistant Boy Scout Master for Troop 238 for two years and then went on to serve as Master for twelve years and earned the Prestigious Palmetto Council Award.  He was also the co- founder of the Wanders RV.  Mr. Skinnell enjoyed camping and meeting people of all ages.

Survivors are his wife Sandra Lynn Barlow Skinnell; daughter Lisa S. Thornburg (Jeff); son Steve Skinnell (Laura); brother Ashby Skinnell all of Clover, SC; sister June Bumgarner of Canton, OH; grandchildren Amber Skinnell, Justin Skinnell, Taylor Carothers (Derek), and Barry Thornburg; and great grandchildren Roman, Lucian, Noah, & Sebastian Carothers plus 1 on the way.
