Peggy James Little, age 84, beloved wife, mother, and Nana, passed away peacefully December 17th, 2020.
A long time resident of Charlotte, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Fern Jones James and Edward Luther James, who preceded her in death. She was married to Douglas K. Little, who also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her three sons, Brad, Todd, and Kearns Little. She is survived by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren, as well as many other beloved family and friends.
Peggy was born April 28, 1936 in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She grew up the youngest with four brothers. She attended and graduated from Griffith High School in 1954. Peggy chose to attend Charlotte Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1955, where she was President of the Freshman class. After marrying Douglas K. Little and starting a family, she decided to give up her nursing career to be a stay at home mom with her boys. Later in her life, she took a nursing position at Camp Thunderbird in Lake Wylie, SC. She coached basketball and volleyball at Gaston Day School. Peggy became the business manager to Miss North Carolina in pageants, where she also judged pageants nationwide. She was also instrumental in helping develop the Charlotte Ski Bees and Lucky Diamond catering. She was an avid bird watcher and a master at putting puzzles together.
A visitation will be held January 7th, 2021 at M. L. Ford and Sons Funeral Home, Lake Wylie, SC from 1 o’clock to 2:30. Please join us to celebrate Peggy’s life.
