Rebecca Brown Obituary

Rebecca Ann Brown, 73, of Clover, South Carolina went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 14, 2025, after courageously battling cancer.   Becky was born in Moultrie, Georgia on July 6, 1951, to the late Gerald Marion and Dolly Luesing Brown.

Becky was raised in Jacksonville, Florida.  She was very smart and musically talented, earning many awards from her days in the high school band.  She graduated with highest honors from Jacksonville University and completed her Master’s degree at Eastern Kentucky University.  Becky lived a life of service. She worked for several years as a psychologist with the Gaston Lincoln Area Mental Health Program before serving as a school psychologist at CMS until her retirement. She will be remembered for her tireless dedication to her students and supportive collaboration with her co-workers to ensure all children had the opportunity to thrive.

Becky was quick-witted, with a great sense of humor which helped her face life’s obstacles. She enjoyed reading mystery novels and had a great love for nature and animals, especially her beloved dog, Bella.  She always wanted to live on a farm and fulfilled that dream in Clover.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Libby Benson of Kingwood, TX and Gina Stevens (Charles) of Jacksonville, FL, one niece, Wendy Courington (Brian), three nephews, Chris Benson (Jessica), Brandon Stevens, and Ryan Stevens as well as many relatives and dear friends including her best friend, Maureen Collins.

Those who were blessed to know Becky will never forget her. She was one of a kind and will be dearly missed!

A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025 at her home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heifer International, 1 World Avenue, Little Rock AR 72202 heifer.org, Feeding America, 161 North Clark Street, Suite 700, Chicago, IL 60601 give.feedingamerica.org or the Humane Society of Charlotte, 1348 Parker Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208 humanesocietyofcharlotte.org.
