Rebecca Esther Perry age 35 and her infant daughter Honor Lane Perry entered into the perfect arms of their Savior on March 20, 2026.
Rebecca was born January 23, 1991, in Erlanger, KY, to Timothy Bruce Thiessen and Elvira Aguirre Thiessen.
Rebecca was the first born of five children, which probably contributed to her lifelong passion for all things children. She was a favorite of her teachers and eventually became a favorite teacher. She earned a Teaching Fellow Scholarship and chose Anderson University. Upon graduation she immediately found her first teaching job at Alma Elementary in Gaffney SC. She later taught at elementary schools in the upstate of South Carolina including Oakdale in Rock Hill, SC and Crowders Creek in Clover, SC. Rebecca also had a passion for opportunities for children outside of school highlighted by her many years of service to the ministry of Lost Timber Bible Camp (Chandler, MN) as a camper, staffer, and counselor and also many Vacation Bible School ministries beginning with Bethany ARP Church (Clover, SC). A part of her legacy will live on through all of these little lives so beautifully poured into by her intentional caring, fun, and creative approach.
Rebecca proudly wore the mantle of first-born fiercely defending and supporting her two sisters and brother. Although she was home-sick her first year of Anderson University, things went quiet in year two when she met and fell in love with Jason Perry. They fell in “wuv” and married soon after graduation and began to build their life, careers, and eventually family together. The Perrys are dedicated to their family and friends and always looking to create fun and adventure. They love to play games and are known to be extremely competitive. All of this will live on through the lives of Jason and the kids.
Rebecca is preceded in death by her grandfathers Mike Thiessen (Opa) and Bill Hobbs (Bibi); her abuelo, Nicolas Aguirre and abuela Editta Aguirre; and her little brother Jacob Thiessen (1995) whom Rebecca and Honor will be laid to rest nearby.
Surviving family of Rebecca are her husband Jason and their children Madelyn, Hiram, and Gresham of Easley SC. She is also survived by her parents, Tim and Elvira Thiessen of Clover SC; siblings, Anna Gordon (Jack) of Dayton OH, Roman Thiessen (Bethany) of Flandreau SD, and Abigail Thiessen currently attending the Citadel Military College in Charleston SC. Also locally is her sweet Tia Nelly Jenkins (Martin) and cousin Jorge Aguirre. Rebecca is also survived by her loving in-laws; parents David and Kathy Perry of Anderson SC; sister-in-law, Holly Montgomery (Brandon) of Phoenix AZ. And for the grand finale, Rebecca would have you know she is survived by her most cherished people outside of her own children, nieces and nephews, Charlotte, Urban, Timmy, Benny, Elwin, Kiran, Elijah.
