Mr. Richard Earl McCarter, 73, of Clover, SC passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024, at CaroMont Health, Gastonia, NC.
A celebration of life will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the First Baptist Church, 117 S. Main St., Clover, SC with the Rev. Mike Stafford officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday before the service at the Church.
Mr. McCarter was born May 18, 1951 in Clover, SC to the late Williford Earl and Alice Clinton McCarter. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and served two tours in Vietnam. Mr. McCarter was a retired nurse.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles McCarter, Kelly McCarter, and George McCarter and a sister, Nancy McCarter.
Survivors are his wife of 40 years, Beverly “Bev” Greene McCarter; daughter Melissa “Missi” McCarter of Clover, SC; sons Robert McCarter, Daniel McCarter (Allison) both of Clover, SC and Michael McCarter (Elise) of Houston, TX; sisters Emma Johnson of Clover, SC and Betty Wilson of Toccoa, GA; grandchildren Justin Ray of Kings Mountain, NC, Chelsie Mayberry (Rich) of Charleston, SC, Christopher Mayberry (Shelby) of Dallas, NC, Taylor McCarter of Clover, SC, Ethan Owens of Clover, SC, and Grey McCarter of Houston, TX; seven great grandchildren; sister-in-law Joy Dearmore of Waxhaw, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
