Mrs. Rita Stella Tomczak Humphrey, 91, of Clover, SC passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at CaroMont Health, Gastonia, NC.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2025 at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Clover, SC with Deacon Bill Melton officiating. She will be interred at Mount Cavalry Cemetery, Cheektowaga, NY.
Mrs. Humphrey was born November 13, 1933 in Buffalo, NY to the late Joseph and Katherine Weiss Tomczak. She was the widow of Howard T. Humphrey and a retired Nursing Supervisor.
Rita was a true disciple of Christ. In all she did and thought her strong faith guided her every move. She found the good in everyone and forgave their shortcomings. She had a special way of building you up and always making you feel good about yourself. She gave of herself her whole life from nursing migrants, church volunteer, supporting those dying of aids and of course her dedication to her family and friends. Her contagious laugh, tremendous sense of humor and enthusiasm to enjoy life brought joy and love to all that met her. Her Lasagna, cheesecake and Christmas cookies were favorites of the family.
Survivors are her sons Howard J. Humphrey (Susan) of Topeka, KS and Christopher J. Humphrey (Carolyn) of Clover, SC; sister Alice Modica (Paul) of Minneapolis, MN; and six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
