Mr. Robert Merrill Campbell, 86, of Lake Wylie, SC, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2026 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, Rock Hill, SC.
Mr. Campbell was born August 14, 1939 in Hornell, NY to the late Robert Morrell and Anna Abigail Merrill Campbell. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran.
Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Sally Stephens Campbell; daughters Heather Campbell of San Diego, CA and Holly (Campbell) Thompson of Lake Wylie, SC; son Robert Stephen Campbell of Boulder, CO; and grandchildren Joy Thompson, Bradley Thompson, and Matthew Thompson.
Bob was an avid sailor and owned a sailboat most of his life. He served honorably in the Navy aboard the USS Uvalde and USS Nitro. He attended college at Rensselaer Polytechnic University, graduating as a metallurgist; and earned his MBA at Dartmouth University. After his tour in the Navy, he worked at Corning Glass, Lithium Corporation of America and became President of Spartan Minerals (a subsidiary of Lithium Corporation).
He is deeply missed by all his family.
A memorial service will be 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the Community Church of Lake Wylie, 104 Hamilton’s Ferry Rd., Lake Wylie, SC.
