Robert Bruce Sledzewski of Lake Wylie, SC, passed away on August 27, 2020 at the age of 56.
Rob was born in Flemington, NJ, on September 17, 1963 to Linda Siipola Sledzewski and the late Paul Kenneth Sledzewski.
After high school he worked with his father at S&R Foundry making castings for machinery. He then had a successful career with several transportation carriers. Rob owned and operated Bobsled Transport until joining the Snyder-Lance team as a driver 12 years ago. Everyone there loved and respected him. Rob was an avid fisherman, who won numerous awards and prizes for his catch. He loved to travel and would hunt for shark teeth for hours at a time on beach trips. He could easily find over a hundred in just one afternoon. He will always be remembered for his infectious smile, his loving nature and the way he loved God and his family. He knew that each day was a gift, and he lived his life to the fullest.
Rob is survived by his wife, Reeda Sledzewski; daughter, Kathryn Sledzewski; stepsons, Ethan and Seth Powell and Taylor Woodie; mother, Linda Siipola Sledzewski; sister, Laura Sledzewski Smith, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 10 a.m. at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 13110 Moss Road, Charlotte, NC. Due to social distancing restrictions, seating in the main sanctuary is limited. Masks are required. The service will also be made available through live streaming at this link:
