Scott Christian Williams, 51, of Lake Wylie, SC passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Atrium Health Pineville.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 13th at 3:00 PM at the Clover Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 127 Kings Mountain Street, Clover, SC with the Rev. Mark Miller officiating, followed by the burial at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 1774 Filbert Hwy., York, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2 PM in the Church Fellowship Hall. 

Scott was born September 28, 1972, to Jerry Milton Williams and Ms. Celia Roberts Williams in Columbia, SC.

Scott graduated from The Catawba School in 1991 before receiving a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from The University of South Carolina in 1994 and a masters from Winthrop University in 2002.

Scott graduated from the SC Criminal Justice Academy as he began a long career in law enforcement where he worked for the SC Department of Probation and Parole before spending 11 years as an investigator with the SC State Law Enforcement Division (SLED.) He served the final 13 years of his career as a Captain with the Fort Mill Police Department prior to retiring in 2023.    

He is survived by his wife, Cameron Harvey Williams; the pride of his life, son, Xander Christian Williams; his mother, Ms. Celia Roberts Williams of Rock Hill, SC; father, Jerry Williams and stepmother, Rebecca, of Richburg, SC; grandmother, Mrs. Grace Roberts, of Kershaw, SC; sister, Stacey Whitman (Walt) of Rock Hill, SC, stepsisters, Sarah Adkins (Matt) of Rock Hill, SC and Katie Alt of Richburg, SC (Jason); mother-in-law, Anita Harvey of Clover, SC; brother-in-law, Brad Harvey (Dawn) of Pawleys Island, SC; nieces, Savanna Whitman, Caroline Whitman, Reid Adkins, Anna Kate Alt, and Maggie Harvey; and nephews, Hunter Whitman, Thomas Adkins and Ethan Alt.
