Mrs. Sylvia Ann Hege Mihnovets, 60, of York, SC, passed away Monday, August 24, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones. She battled breast cancer for 7 years and fought hard!

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. on August 29, 2020 at Forest Hills Cemetery, 4290 Old York Rd Rock Hill, SC 29732. Following the service, the family will receive friends from 3-6 pm at their residence, 2110 Brandt Rd., York SC.

Sylvia was born in Stuttgart, Germany on November 22, 1959. She came to the states at the age of 17 and never turned back. Sylvia became a mother at the age of 28 and that was her favorite title of her entire life. She did a little bit of everything in her lifetime from being a hairdresser to selling jewelry at Helzberg Diamonds to interior designer to being a nanny to 3 sweet little boys whom she loved very much. She loved to travel to different places and visiting her mom in Germany was always one of her favorites. She was so creative and loved doing stuff with her hands such as making cards and signs, putting succulent arrangements together, crocheting cute animals and coloring.  

Survivors are her husband Peter "Pete" A. Mihnovets; daughter Carley Ann Hege of York, SC; mother Marianna "Betty" Hobbs of Germany; sisters Debbie King & Angie Yatkowski; nieces Shannon Hobbs, Shelby Yatkowski and Sarah Yatkowski. Along with, Olga and Alex Mihnovets; Steve and Joey Mihnovets of Cleveland, Ohio. Nick and Cherie Mihnovets of Houston, Texas. She sure loved her family and spending time with them.
