Terry Kenton Faris who was currently living with his son Kenton in Woodman, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, after a long five-year battle with cancer. Terry was born April 25, 1954, to the late Earl Clyde and Cleo Wilson Faris. He attended Clover High School through the 11th grade when he moved to Pelham, Georgia to live with his Aunt and Uncle Carl Hope and Edna Miller Wilson. He graduated from Cairo High School in Cairo, Georgia in 1972.
Even while in Clover, Terry learned the love of auto mechanics, working first with Dickerson Ford in Clover. Throughout his life, he excelled in this field acquiring the certification status of ASE Master Tech. His skilled hands brought excellence to his work throughout his career.
In the late 70’s to early 80’s Terry was a member of Rizer Band, playing the guitar, singing and managing the sound boards. In addition, he was Production Manager and backup vocalist for the popular band Seaboard. Throughout his life, he always had a passionate love for music.
Terry had a magnetic personality, a love for life and a keen sense of humor which brightened the lives of those around him. However, his dedication as a single parent raising his son Kenton was the light of his life. Their bond was unbreakable, built on love and devotion that will forever be cherished.
In addition to his parents, Terry is predeceased by his brother Ronald Hope Faris of Crawfordville, Florida.
Terry is survived by his son Kenton Elliott Faris of Woodman, Wisconsin, special friend Ashley Broadnax, brother Earl Steven Faris (Gail) of Freeport, Florida and sister Janice Currence Meek (Larry) of Gastonia, North Carolina, nieces Stefanie Faris King (Howard) of Dothan, Alabama and Alicia Faris Getz (Brian) of Piedmont, California, Mara Hope Faris of Buchanan, Virginia and special cousin Toni Wilson Gouldbourn (Mike) of Longwood, Florida. His memory will be held dear by all who had the privilege of being a part of his life.
Cremation is by First Wisconsin Cremation Service, Beloit, Wisconsin. A graveside service will be conducted by M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, Clover, South Carolina, on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in Woodside Cemetery, Cemetery Street, Clover, SC, with Pastor James Holeman, Union Presbyterian Church, Gastonia, North Carolina officiating.
