Mr. Thomas William Lewis, II, 88, of Lake Wylie, South Carolina, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024, at home.
Mr. Lewis was born July 31, 1935, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Thomas William and Mary McGoldrick Lewis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha Lynn Vesely Lewis, his sister, Mary Lewis, and his grandson, Daniel Lewis.
Tom was a devout Christian serving his churches – Story Memorial and Nebo Crossing - and community in Marion NC for several years prior to moving to Lake Wylie in 2014.
Tom was a proud US Navy veteran who had served aboard the USS Dortch (DD 670) during the Korean war. He had many amazing stories to tell, most of them very humorous. He loved his wife Marsha of 40 years. They enjoyed traveling more than anything else. He became known affectionately to his friends as ‘PeePaw’, and as ‘El Supremo’ to his great grandchildren.
Tom was a faithful husband and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He touched many lives with his love. He will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his daughters, Gayle Ann Lewis, Boston, MA, and Kimberly Ann Heiliger (Timothy), York, SC; his sons, Thomas W. Lewis, III (Susan), San Antonio, TX, Edward Lewis (Betty-Anne), Clover, SC, and Tyler Sean Lewis (Marion), Gastonia, NC; his sister, Theresa Lewis, Boca Raton, FL; his nine grandchildren; and his three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on June 10 at 10 AM at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Gastonia, NC.
