Mr. Tommy Robert Payne, age 75, of Clover, SC, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022, at home.

Mr. Payne was born November 25, 1946, in Charlotte, NC, to the late Smith Leonard Payne and Catherine Sue Moss Payne.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Payne Sellers, and his brothers, Doyle Leonard Payne and Rickey Dean Payne.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy Black Payne, his daughter, Whitney Jennifer Payne (York, SC), his son, Christopher Matthew Payne (Rhonda), Clover, SC, and his  grandsons, Paxton Smith Payne and Banks Cooper Payne.

Tommy served his country in Vietnam in the 101st Airborne Division.  He worked for Petty Machine company for 38 years.  Tommy was selfless, thoughtful and caring of his family and friends, and always put his family first.  They will miss his daily phone calls.

A graveside service will be 4:00 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 1774 Filbert Highway, York, SC, with the Rev. Alex Stephenson officiating.
